Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy, or physical therapy, is a primary healthcare profession that serves to restore, maintain and maximize movement, strength and overall well-being. OHP physiotherapists combine their in-depth knowledge of the body and how it works with specialized hands-on clinical skills to assess, diagnose and treat the symptoms of injuries and disabilities. OHP physiotherapists have a fantastic reputation of helping those in the Kelowna community work through injuries and stay active.

Physiotherapy treatments may include

  • Interferential Current Therapy (IFC) electrotherapy

  • Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS)

  • Shockwave Therapy (SWT)

  • Ultrasound therapy

  • Stretch/Strengthen/Conditioning Exercise Protocols

  • Joint mobilizations and soft tissue therapy

Why choose an OHP physiotherapist?

Our one-on-one sessions allow for your concerns to not only be heard, but to be accurately assessed and treated. Physiotherapy offers diverse treatments that are appropriately determined for both you and your injury. Treatment may include a combination of hands-on therapy, electrotherapy, dry needling, shockwave therapy, education and individualized home exercises.

What to expect during your first visit

A detailed assessment of your range of motion, strength, and identification of the cause of your injury in order to set you up with the correct rehabilitation and treatment protocol. An OHP physiotherapist will then administer a hands on treatment specifically geared toward your condition.
