OHP is RE-OPEN for In-Person Services for all services including Chiropractic, Physiotherapy, Osteopathy and Registered Massage Therapy starting May 19th!
The health and safety of our patients and staff is our first priority as we move forward. As regulated healthcare providers, we will continue to abide by the specific guidelines from our professional regulatory bodies, the BC health minister and B.C. Centre of disease control (BCCDC).
These guidelines include the following:
*Please note, these guidelines are evolving and subject to change.
We kindly ask all patients to refrain from entering the clinic if experiencing respiratory or flu-like symptoms. Upon entering the clinic, and on each visit, you will be asked to sign a pre-screening form. We will waive any last-minute cancellations if you are unable to enter due to possible symptoms, or exposure to the coronavirus. If you are booked for registered massage therapy, you can expect to receive a pre-appointment screening phone call from your RMT, as mandated by the BC College of Massage Therapists.
Patients are asked to arrive with clean clothes. Please use the hand sanitizer provided at reception upon entering and exiting the clinic.
Please wait in your vehicle until just a few minutes before your scheduled appointment, unless you are asked to come earlier to fill out forms. The waiting room seating is limited and spaced out, and floor decals mark physical distancing measures in the reception area. Before exiting a treatment room, we ask that you look out into the hallway, and wait until the hallway is clear before exiting the room. Please arrive for your appointment alone, unless you are a caregiver or accompanying a minor.
Treatment times have been adjusted to allow practitioners extra time to clean surfaces using disinfectants. Plexiglass shields have been placed in the reception area, and surfaces will be disinfected regularly. We encourage you to use the ‘tap’ function on the POS machine when possible.
Effective use of PPE’s
We encourage patients to BYOM (bring your own face mask). Although mask use is not mandatory (according to the BCCDC), you can expect to see practitioners wearing face masks, and requiring patients to do the same. It is up to each individual patient and practitioner to assess and decide about the use of PPE’s. Surgical masks will be available for purchase at OHP.
The clinic is open Monday – Saturday, and bookings may be made online or by calling OHP at 250 860-6295.
We are so excited to see you again, and we are committed to helping you optimize your health and performance through this very interesting time!

Statement from the Provincial Health Officer & CCBC (College of Chiropractors of BC):
As required by the Provincial Health Officer and the College of Chiropractors of BC, during the COVID-19 pandemic, chiropractors can only treat patients in person when providing “emergent, urgent and/or essential care.” You must schedule an appointment for in-person treatment. Unscheduled, drop-in treatment is not permitted.
Before you can schedule in-person treatment, you must be interviewed by your Chiropractor to confirm whether you require “emergent, urgent and/or essential care” and to assess your risk for COVID-19 infection. Your Chiropractor must interview you over the phone or using internet communications. You cannot be interviewed in person.
By scheduling an appointment online, your OHP Chiropractor will be prompted to call you for an interview (at no charge). Please note that your call may appear to be from an unknown or blocked number.

Guidelines For Your OHP Visit
We have implemented face masks as an essential part of our protocol for in-person patient care.
Let’s adapt our perspective of wearing FACE MASKS from that of fear to one of hope, care and a gesture of community.
Please bring your own mask (BYOM) if possible. OHP has a very limited supply of surgical masks and we hope to conserve so we can provide urgent care for all those in need. Homemade masks are acceptable.
Please follow these guidelines:
- Please stay in your car until your scheduled appointment time
- Arrive with clean hands & clean clothes
- Upon check-in you will be asked to sign a Pre-Screening form. Read form here.
- You will be offered a face mask (please bring your own face mask if you already have one)
- One person in the treatment room (unless treatment is for a child, one parent to be present)

Chiropractic and Physiotherapy are considered essential services in BC, and can provide In-Person care for patients requiring emergent, urgent and essential care. This is defined as “Conditions that without care, would severely limit patients from his or her activities of daily living, and acute conditions that require immediate attention to relieve pain.”
Unfortunately, Osteopathy and Registered Massage Therapy services are not yet available. We will continue to monitor the recommendations from the regulatory colleges and promise to send out an announcement as soon as anything changes.
As per the BC Centre for Disease Control recommendations, we will be using the necessary personal protective equipment, including face masks, for any in-person, close contact care. Stringent in-office hygiene and sanitizing procedures are in effect, along with limited patient bookings and staff to increase social distancing.
Telehealth (secured video conference) appointments are also available. Via Telehealth, from the comfort of your home, we are able to discuss and assess your current health and injury condition, make necessary changes to your exercise program, and offer additional advice on self-care strategies to help you during the COVID-19 crisis. Current ICBC and WCB patients are eligible for full coverage of Telehealth services. Several insurance companies are also reimbursing for Telehealth services.
Please click to check our online booking service for available practitioners and appointments.
Alternatively, you can email our office manager Leanne at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that all patients will be pre-screened to ensure a safe environment for all.
We are encouraged by the everyday acts of courage, caring, and love that are occurring throughout our city and country. Here’s to staying active and embracing this time of change,
Your OHP Health Team

To our OHP community,
OHP is CLOSED, and will remain closed until further notice
In an effort to protect our patients, staff and community, and in following the Provincial Health Officer’s recommendations to reduce all non-essential, non-urgent services involving direct physical contact, OHP is canceling all scheduled appointments until further notice.
However, we are available if you need us. We encourage you to schedule a telephone or video consultation with one of our practitioners via OHP Telehealth Services by emailing email@example.com
We will continue to monitor updates from our health authorities and will do our best to keep you up to date on ever-evolving developments.

As the health and safety of our patients and staff are of the greatest importance to us, in following public health authority recommendations on social distancing we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close our clinic in an effort to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
Please be advised that OHP will be CLOSED effective immediately.
All scheduled appointments for the time period of March 19-30 will be cancelled. Please note that we will be monitoring advisories by the public health authorities closely and will update you if we need to extend this projected re-opening date. Please check our website and facebook page for the most current updates.
We are available for emergency visits and phone or facetime/video consultations to help with your musculoskeletal conditions as best we can. Please contact us by email: firstname.lastname@example.org
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Trust that we recognize the importance of your health care appointments and appreciate your understanding as we navigate this unprecedented and challenging situation together.

To our OHP community,
Okanagan Health and Performance (OHP) would like to inform you that we are closely following the on-going updates and recommendations from the BC Centre for Disease Control, the Public Health Agency of Canada, and our professional regulatory colleges.
OHP kindly requests for the safety of everyone, that you call or go online to cancel or reschedule your appointments (cancellation fees will be waived) if you:
– Are experiencing flu-like symptoms, fever, or signs of coughing, sneezing, etc
– Are immunocompromised or have underlying health concerns that put you at risk
– Have recently returned from travelling abroad, or have been exposed to any persons or places that have COVID19
We want to reassure you that we are taking precautionary measures to ensure that tables and surfaces are disinfected after each treatment with medical grade disinfectant. We have hand sanitizer available throughout the clinic and several sinks with soap for handwashing.
Phone or video consultations with our Physiotherapists and Chiropractors are available for anyone who is at home, and unable to attend the clinic. Please call if you would like to schedule a consultation.
Let’s all work together to help reduce the spread of COVID19.
Thank you from all of us at OHP.
